Family Time & Fueling

I am having such a blast in NC. I can't believe that it is already Wednesday afternoon. Morgan, Dakota and I spent the afternoon at the Fun Factory in Franklin, NC. We played every imaginable arcade game possible. $50 later, we went to Pizza Hut for lunch. Those who know me would be the first to realize that this was not my choice. I chose the salad bar. In the end, I don't know if it was the right choice or not as I cut my 8 mile run short - at mile 4.5. I don't know if it's the heat and humidity or that I'm not properly fueling my body but I've been having this problem AT LEAST once a week for the past month. When I take a step back afterwards to really look at the situation, I think it comes down to fueling.

For instance: Today I skipped my normal breakfast (granola, fruit and lowfat yogurt) and only had coffee. Then, I had the salad bar for lunch. I didn't go back for seconds so it was hardly enough.

On the other hand ... Both yesterday and Sunday I had great 8+ milers. Both days, I ate not only pretty well but enough!

So, time for food. I'll have to finish the remaining 3.5 miles in a little while.

** I found the picture above on my parents computer from the weekend of my San Francisco Marathon in 2008. There is nothing better than great memories!**
