When my alarm went off at 4:45AM and I realized that it was 36 degrees outside, my first thought was to stay in the warm bed. But, I didn't. I got up and decided that I would go to the track. I knew I'd be upset if I didn't!
I got all bundled up in my cold weather running gear (Thank God I lived in Louisville and Indianapolis for the last 3 winters) and headed to the track. I ran a mile warm up to stay warm, took off my sweat pants and was ready for track!
6 x 800
Goal Pace: 3:19
Goal - Hit times, but don't push until the last two because I have a half marathon on Sunday
Times:
3:16 3:15 3:14 3:11 3:09 2:59
I'll take it!! Maybe, I like the cold!! :)
Still happy!!
Nice work as usual track queen!! :-] It took me some time to get going this morning too! My alarm went off at 4:15am for today's workout and I didn't get out of bed until 5:15am. Something about 30 degree temps in Florida is just wrong! But at least they are bearable after warming up. Today was my first interval session since prior to the Women's 5k and the first one of this new training cycle - 3x5min tempo @ 6:56 pace w/ 1 min recoveries. What half are you running? Again, nice work in the co-co-cold today! :-] What half are you running?
ReplyDeleteNice workout! Good luck in your half :)

ReplyDeleteGreat times today! I have been loving the cold weather, SO much better than the blistering heat we had all summer. Good luck this weekend, here's hoping the cold weather sticks around!
